Itinerary
Day 1 (Sat 03 Apr) Arrive in Beijing
Meet and transfer to the hotel upon arrival

Day 2 (Sun 04 Apr ) Beijing
This morning we start tours to Tiananmen Square and the extravagant and largest Imperial Palace in the world -the
Forbidden City of Supreme Harmony and Dignity (UNESCO), We then approach the largest imperial garden in the world, the elegant Summer Palace (UNESCO) including a cruise on the shimmering waters of Kunming Lake.
After that we visit the Panda Garden in Beijing Zoo. It has been breeding the largest numbers of pandas as an institution away from the original habitat areas and it is also a UNESCO site.

Day 3 (Mon 05 Apr) Beijing
This morning we start tours first to the iconic the ”Beijing 2008 Olympic Center” - the Bird’s Nest & Water Cube – host to many spectacular events. We stroll around the outside for photography, and then we continue to the Great Wall Badaling (UNESCO) and walk along its ramparts for a breathtaking view of the largest man-made power project.
After that we approach the mountain valley of the best geomancy site - the Ming Dynasty’s Imperial Tomb (UNESCO) including a visit to the Sacred Stature Road.
If time is available we will visit a Jade Carving Factory and observe the skilled artisans at work as they create intricate designs. Tonight we enjoy a Cultural Show

Day 4 (Tue 06 Apr ) Beijing
This morning we visit another renowned imperial site – the Temple of Heaven (UNESCO) including a visit to the Imperial Hall of Pray Harvest, the Imperial Vault and the Imperial Sacrificial Altar.
We will see the echo wall and stones in the vault and on the altar where the emperors whispered with the Celestial Beings utilizing the theory of sound waves. We will see local people doing Taiji and morning exercises there.
Then we visit Beijing City Planning and watch a 3D film which tells the glory history and fast changes of Beijing, many visiting presidents paid a visit while they had a limited time in Beijing.
In the afternoon we take the old–fashioned Pedi cab to the historical sites behind main streets by Hutong Tour. We will visit a Pearl Workshop if time is available. Tonight we enjoy a special Peking Duck Dinner!

Day 5 (Wed 07 Apr) Beijing/Xian
By air we take a later morning flight from Beijing to Xian-the ancient capital over 1100 years and check in to our hotel. HOTEL: AURUM INTERNATIONAL or similar (superior)
Sightseeing in the afternoon: Big Wild Goose Pagoda & Provincial Museum. The Big Wide Goose Pagoda Temple was regarded the landmark of Xian. The dynasty expanded its territories enormously to the west leaving a remarkable array of sculptures and temples.
When Monks and the envoys came to China, the temple was
built and a larger team of scholars was organized here for translation of the Buddhism Scriptures into Chinese and it became a holy place for pilgrimages. Behind the pagoda is the courtyard, which tells the great Buddhist envoys story. The provincial Museum shows us Chinese archaeology’s excavation at Xia n Areas from very beginning of Chinese
primogenitors of Neolithic Age 20000-8000 years ago to the glorious dynasties 980AD. It has numerous collections and treasures on display.

Day 6 (Thu 08 Apr) Xian
We take a full day excursion tour to the famous UNESCO site of Qin Terra-cotta Warriors & Bronze Chariots, We will see the excavated Exhibition 1, 2 ,3, 4 and watch the archaeologists who are continuing digs on the fields for further excavation. We then will watch the Circle Vision Movie of the historical story.
In the afternoon on the route back to the city we will visit the Ceramics & Pottery Center.
Tonight Dumpling Dinner & Tang Dynasty Show.

Day 7 (Fri 09 Apr) Xian/Shanghai
We fly to Shanghai this morning and transfer to the hotel Shanghai GALEXY HOTEL (superior)
In the afternoon we take a city tour to the colonial European past at The Bund - the window to Shanghai history and modern changes. We then visit Xintiandi, a very well-known boutique area that combines both fashion and tradition. It shows another delightful face of Shanghai, a spectacle in the later afternoon or at night with small bars and restaurants in western family style deeply hidden inside the narrow lanes. This was the "character area" that was frequented by young artists and rich travelers.

Day 8 (Sat 10 Apr) Shanghai
This morning we start visit Old Downtown and classical Yu Garden. Old Downtown has many narrow zigzag lanes,small squares, fish ponds and pavilions linked by stone bridges. It collects many favorite local bars, restaurants, tea houses and souvenir shops. The Yu Garden (UNESCO Site) built 400 years ago, is a famous ancient private garden with architectures of Ming and Qing dynasties.
Owing to its ingenious design you will see a zigzag layout of pavilions, chambers and towers, opera stages, elegant rocks and bridges on the mirroring lakes and moats. It became a real museum of Chinese ancient architecture. The vividly brick-carving figures of warlords & warriors, unique animals standing on the roofs of ancient buildings and the huge dragons decorated on the range of walls, feature the unique garden.
In the afternoon we visit the Shanghai Museum. The attractions include enormous fine stone sculptures, bronzeware, porcelain and calligraphic works,; Chinese paintings and ancient furniture.
After the Museum we stroll to the People Square. The surroundings are the best collection of modern architecture. If time available we will visit a Carpet Factory.
Tonight we enjoy the famous Shanghai Acrobatic Show.

Day 9 (Sun 11 Apr) Shanghai
Today a highlight is a visit to Shanghai World Exhibition (Shanghai EXPO). The Exhibition covers a large area of over 5.6 Square kms with 27 master halls. The theme is to show all new creational hopes, concepts, designs, technologies, and present to the world a full potential of urban life in the 21st century as significant for urban evolution called New Approaches of Human Habitat Beautiful Lifestyle. (Shanghai EXPO is on May 01 – Oct.31, but on Feb.01-Apr.29, Nov.01-Dec31 are pre & post exhibition also available for a visit)
If Shanghai EXPO is unavailable before and after the exhibition, we will take a tour excursion to a well-preserved historical site, the ancient water-town of Zhujiajiao to see another unchanged face of Shanghai where EPEC leaders visited while they were in Shanghai. Then we return back the city and visit the Jade Buddha Temple.
